This is a strange one. I had just finished uni and turned the corner on to Bigg Market to find that my local street was rammed full of runners for what appeared to be no reason (Great North Run is in September). So after a bit of questioning, I grabbed my camera to take some pics of the 4000 people who race in the annual Blaydon Race, which is steeped in tradition and covers 6 miles every year on 9th June.

 | 11th May 2008 | Northumbrian Water Boat Race
The Northumbrian Water Boat Race is a great opportunity for Newcastle University to take a pot shot at its parent university, Durham. Unfortunately this year it was a 4-0 walkover for Durham but we did quite well. Also featured are pictures of the Dragon Boat Race and Schools Race.
Interesting pictures of tne Senior Mens holding a defensive line and the Dragon Boat Races, where the steering on some of the boats was not too good

 | 27th Apr 2008 | Gateshead Car Park
On 27th April, the nice people who were redeveloping Gateshead Car Park (famous for towering over the Tyne and being used in a sequence in the movie 'Get Carter') was opened the top floors up. When the car park is normally open you can only access up to the 7th Floor. However, we were allowed full access to the top floors (excluding the restaurant) for the duration. Here are a few pics with more to follow over the coming week.
